With a longstanding history, Zhushan Tzunan Temple features a century-old stone furnace and spiritual stone. Though the Temple is small, it is said to be tremendously efficacious. Thus, crowds of worshippers and those returning in fulfilment of their vows come here every day from across the country. It is especially busy during the lunar new year, weekends, and public holidays.
Zhushan Tzunan Temple is known for lending fortune money, which is said to be extremely efficacious. Legend has it that every time worshipers came to borrow the money, they made money later by investing. Then, they would come back the following year to return the money. After the legend spread, more and more worshipers came to the Temple from across the country. Consequently, Zhushan Tzunan Temple established an administrative commission. People can request “Fude Money” and express their wishes to the God of the Soil; after throwing the poe (two wooden pieces) and acquiring the approval of God of the Soil, they can get the “Fude Money” as principal (maximum NTD600); they should come back to the Temple one year later to return the money and express their gratitude.
Zhushan Tzunan Temple attracts millions of worshipers and tourists every year. To provide 7-star services, the Temple spent more than 40 million NT dollars building Taiwan’s first 7-star bamboo shoot-shaped public restroom. By ingeniously incorporating local characteristics to highlight the local culture, the Temple leaves a deep impression on tourists from Taiwan and abroad with its unique approach.
