At last, we thought of “sweet potato,” a specialty food in Zhushan. Not only is it representative of the local community, but it also is in accordance with the Hotel’s spirit. During the hard times in the past, sweet potatoes left a memorable imprint on the older generations, who diligently lived each day and persistently worked hard till now. Li-Yu Lee rebuilt Le Midi with the exact same attitude.
The Hotel chef selects fresh local sweet potatoes from Zhushan to bake the cake. The cake takes three days to complete and preserves the original taste of sweet potatoes. Made with natural sweet spring water, the cake is smooth and delicate. This low-calorie and healthful dessert was named Best Golden Taste by Ministry of Economic Affairs. It is also the only cake made with sweet potatoes in Taiwan.
